Abstract

In the past decade, there have been remarkable advances in DNA research and in our understanding of the biochemical foundations of human life. The field of biological psychology has developed rapidly, and these insights form the foundation of this book and website. They explain how neurotransmitters in the brain influence human behavior and, more importantly, how this knowledge can help us understand and accept that behavior. Gaining a clear picture of how people are biologically and psychologically structured is therefore essential.
