Abstract

This article presents a clinical case of Cotard's syndrome, which developed in a young adult female patient as part of schizoaffective disorder. This case is of interest due to the rarity of Cotard's syndrome in this age group and the lack of literature on the prognosis and therapeutic approaches to these conditions in adolescence. Resistance to traditional psychopharmacotherapy and the high efficacy of electroconvulsive therapy in such cases have been demonstrated. It is concluded that a favorable prognosis for mental illnesses with a schizoaffective syndrome presentation at this age is possible.
