In this article, the author presents the results of an empirical study of dependence on ENDS in young adults (n = 30). The relationships between physiological markers of addiction, motivation and psychological characteristics of personality are analyzed. An integrated nicotine dependence index (IDI) has been developed and tested. Significant correlations were found between the motivation of emotional regulation and the severity of withdrawal (ρ = 0,47, p < 0,01 ρ = 0,47, p < 0,01), as well as readiness to quit and the success of previous attempts (ρ = 0,56, p < 0, 01 ρ = 0,56, p < 0,01). Four psychological profiles of ENDS users are identified, requiring differentiated approaches in psychocorrection.
