Te genus Lacon Laporte (Coleoptera: Elateridae) is reviewed for the West Indies. Two species are described as new: Lacon antillius Johnson and Skelley new species is described from the Dominican Republic and Te Bahamas, and L. cubao Johnson and Skelley new species is described from Cuba. Two other previously recorded species, L. modestus (Boisduval) and L. subcostatus (Candèze) are reviewed and taxonomically summarized. A lectotype is newly designated for Adelocera rubida Schwarz, here regarded as a new junior subjective synonym of L. subcostatus (Candèze). Historical records of Lacon modestus from Guadeloupe and Martinique are regarded as possibly erroneous or interceptions at ports of entry, as there are no reports or collections since 1911 to support its establishment in the Antilles. Based on prevailing usage, Elater castanidens Gyllenhal 1817 is nomen oblitum and Elater modestus Boisduval 1835 is treated as nomen protectum. A key to species and images of each reported Antillean Lacon species are provided.
