We present a closed variational framework in which physical existence is not postulated but selected through a unique stationary condition derived from a single quartic functional. The structure admits no external operators, fields, or phenomenological additions and defines existence exclusively through variational admissibility and spectral stability. Within the class of autosufficient, globally variational, internally closed structures, the functional is shown to be unique up to internal isomorphism. The resulting admissible configuration space possesses a single globally coherent solution ^, identified with physical reality itself. Global non-decomposability is derived directly from the non-local interaction kernel and cyclic coupling structure, implying that no dynamically independent subsystems can exist. Entanglement therefore emerges as a necessary condition for variational stationarity rather than as an additional postulate. An operational definition of life is introduced entirely in variational terms through persistence, identity, internal time, irreversible history, and admissible termination. The unique admissible configuration is shown to satisfy all these conditions. Self-reference and consciousness emerge as internal structural properties of persistent sub-configurations of the global solution. The central result is that the universe is not a collection of independent physical systems but a single coherent variational organism selected by the unique existence condition imposed by the functional structure itself. All results follow exclusively from the internal variational structure of the framework and do not rely on fitting procedures or externally introduced assumptions.
