Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explicate an educational approach to teaching architecture as a co-creation process, its case being the design and realization of a temporary train station for the Roskilde Festival 2025. Design/methodology/approach The methodology adopted in this paper is a case study of the built station deploying the degrowth evaluation matrix developed by Buch Hansen et al. (2023), to assess sustainability parameters in both the teaching environment and the final result. Findings The findings point to lowered levels of stress and anxiety in the student group involved, while also highlighting pitfalls and fallbacks in relation to collective processes and individual learning outcomes. Originality/value The paper presents an original case, the case study of a building as a teaching object, while also presenting a hybrid co-creation between its authors from both economic studies (degrowth) and design studies (architecture).
