Key Points

  • The research aims to develop a computationally efficient grid model for isotropic random fields to improve accuracy in stochastic transport problems.
  • Developed a grid model to approximate isotropic random fields.
  • Conducted test estimations on time asymptotics of mean particle flux in a multiplying random medium.
  • The grid model achieves high accuracy for small correlation lengths in stochastic transport.
  • Time asymptotics for mean particle flux were successfully estimated using the model.

Abstract

A simple computer-efficient grid model for an isotropic random field is developed to provide sufficiently high accuracy of solutions to stochastic transport problems for small correlation lengths. Results of test estimation of the time asymptotics of mean particle flux in a multiplying random medium are presented.
