This study presents the complete mitochondrial genome of an eelpout, Lycodichthys sp., sampled from the South China Sea at a depth of 4,250 m. The mitogenome is 16,806 bp in length, with a GC content of 49.47%, and comprises 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes and one non-coding control region.
