Meyer, and co-workers utilize a focused electron beam of a scanning transmission electron microscope to cut twisted bilayer graphene into nanoribbons, which spontaneously reconstruct into chiral carbon nanotubes. By using a cutting angle at half the twist angle of the bilayer, this approach enables the controlled fabrication of nanotube arrays and Y-junctions, opening a route towards precise engineering of carbon nanostructures.
