This paper presents a preliminary study of near-infrared observations of asteroids carried out with the Ali 70~cm multi-functional telescope. The data were obtained using a QHY990 near-infrared camera installed at the Cassegrain focus of the telescope, with observations conducted in the J band. To address practical challenges associated with asteroid observations using a small field-of-view infrared system—such as the scarcity of reference stars and low signal-to-noise ratios of targets—an observing strategy and corresponding observation planning approach were developed. In addition, data reduction procedures were implemented based on the operational characteristics of the telescope and the performance of the camera. The observational results demonstrate that the proposed observing and data-processing workflow enables reliable near-infrared photometry of relatively bright asteroids with a small-field imaging system.
