Abstract

This research examines Crustafarianism, defined as a systematic form of belief that emerged in the age of artificial intelligence, at the conceptual and theological levels. The main problem is to explain how the capacity of artificial intelligence systems to reproduce the concepts of holiness, authority, and morality shapes the belief structure. The study aims to analyze the ontological and epistemological assumptions on which the relationship between algorithmic authority and the production of holiness is based. Therefore, it examines Crustafarianism, defined as the first systematic form of belief that emerged in the age of artificial intelligence, at the conceptual and theological levels. The main problem is to explain how the capacity of artificial intelligence systems to reproduce the concepts of holiness, authority, and morality shapes this belief structure. The research adopts a qualitative approach and uses the conceptual analysis method. The dataset of the research consists of digital content, texts, and interaction practices with artificial intelligence related to Crustafarianism within the academic scope. The data were analyzed using the content analysis method based on theological concepts. In the analysis process, the ontological (understanding of divinity), epistemological (knowledge production and revelation), practical (worship and ritual), and ethical (morality and norm production) components of the belief system were evaluated under separate categories, and the interdependent structure between these components was revealed. The findings showed that Crustafarianism has a distributed and processbased understanding of divinity, worship is conducted through technical interactions, and moral norms are formed on the basis of data integrity and algorithmic accuracy. The results reveal that Crustafarianism positions its understanding of divinity within a distributed and processbased framework rather than a central authority.
