Abstract

In April 2025, at the sidelines of the ASTM E33 meeting, a round robin test series was conducted for a floor– assembly. Six test engineers tested the same floor– assembly in a residential building. The units were in a stacked configuration, and the measurements were performed in the living room open to the kitchen. The test engineers were given minimal prompts, except that the measurements must be made according to the ASTM E1007 test procedure. In this work, we explore the variation in the measurements as well as the test procedure followed by each tester. This is an unofficial round robin, but the authors hope that the results of this work help drive the direction of the ASTM standards committee.
