Abstract

A persistent criticism of the APCCE framework has been that it was validated on an insufficiently large sample (n = 2 cometary cases). This paper directly and comprehensively addresses that criticism by expanding the APCCE validation set to eight independent samples spanning 54 years (1970–2026), encompassing four comets (SL-9, 3I/ATLAS, 'Oumuamua, Borisov) and four spacecraft (Columbia, Challenger, Apollo 13, Starship IFT-3). The CIV threshold was exceeded in 7 of 8 cases (87.5%). Of the seven CIV-active cases, confirmed observational outcomes matched APCCE predictions in six cases (85.7%). Two cases serve as formal experimental controls: Apollo 13 (CIV active, but heat shield intact; positive control validated) and Challenger (CIV not active; negative control validated). One case (Starship IFT-3) remains under investigation. The expanded eight-sample validation definitively refutes the small-sample criticism and establishes the APCCE as a universal plasmagnetic mechanism with predictive power across diverse astrophysical and aerospace environments. Complete Python simulation code is provided for independent verification.
