In response to the 2025 Cooper Creek flood, Beach Energy implemented a multitechnology strategy to deliver a timely, coordinated, fit-for-purpose mitigation and response effort. Beach fused the information from remote Pan-Tilt Zoom cameras, drone surveillance and public satellite imagery to a calibrated 2D flood model, all surfaced through Geographic Information System time series overlays that fed into a disciplined decision cadence anchored to existing procedures. Calibrated forecasts consistently landed within ~1–2 days at major nearfield corridors and within ~1 week for distal corridors like the Birdsville track. This predictive decision-making framework led to optimised work fronts throughout the flooding event. It enabled teams to secure assets ahead of the flood’s arrival, reduce the need for routine helicopter inspections, appropriately stockpile supplies, and plan ahead for staged recovery efforts. Altogether, it demonstrated a repeatable response model that supports business continuity and resilience in climate-related disasters.
