Abstract Two 6‐week‐old puppies were referred to the Physiotherapy Department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Cluj due to symptoms including hindquarter instability, abnormal hindlimb positioning, and ankylosis of the carpal joint. Both puppies were diagnosed with swimmer puppy syndrome. The team decided to apply an intensive physiotherapy protocol, along with a high‐quality diet and vitamin supplements. After just 2 weeks, both puppies had recovered very well. One of the dogs was monitored for over 3 years following treatment and was found to have no orthopaedic abnormalities apart from being diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia. It is important to note that physiotherapy plays an important role in treating swimmer puppies and can lead to successful long‐term outcomes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical short‐term and long‐term outcomes, as well as the importance of rehabilitation therapy in dogs with swimmer puppy syndrome.
