Community-acquired pneumonia remains one of the most common infectious diseases of the respiratory system and occupies an important place in the structure of morbidity and mortality worldwide. One of the key pathogenetic mechanisms of pneumonia is impaired mucociliary clearance and accumulation of viscous bronchial secretions. Therefore, the use of mucolytic drugs is considered an important component of комплекс therapy for community-acquired pneumonia.
