Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to examine articles that have contributed to the field of pedodontics in journals indexed in the TR Dizin database using bibliometric analysis. Material and Methods: A search was performed in the TR Dizin database using the keywords ''pedodonti'', ''çocuk diş hekimliği'', ''pedodontics'', and ''pediatric dentistry''. Articles published between 2015-2024 were recorded. Data on article type, publication year, journal name, publication language, number of authors, research topic, and number of citations were analyzed. Results: A total of 302 articles were included in the study. The highest number of publications was in 2023 with 48 articles, while the lowest number was 5 articles in 2015. Of the publications, 222 were research articles, 58 were reviews, and 22 were case reports. One hundred seventy five articles were published in Turkish, and 127 were published in English. It was found that the highest number of articles in the field of pediatric dentistry were published in the Türkiye Klinikleri Journal of Dental Sciences. Eighty seven articles received citations, with a total of 162 citations. No statistically significant difference was found in citation counts between Turkish and English publications (p<0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study show that academic productivity in pediatric dentistry in the TR Dizin database has increased over time, and researchers are collaborating not only within their own institutions but also with other institutions and disciplines.
