Goat milk production plays an important role in the global market, with Anglo-Nubian goats prized for their high fat and protein milk. This research investigates the influence of age at first parturition on milk production and lactation duration among 30 primiparous goats of this breed, divided into three groups according to age of the first kid. Batches B1 and B3 included 7-8 months and 17-18 months old goats bred in the normal breeding season, while batch B2, aged 12-13 months, was bred in the counter-season with a lactation of 12-15 months. These goats were included in breeding programs, being exploited under similar climatic conditions and forage resources. The results showed variations in milk production and lactation duration, thus, batch 1 produced 535.8 kg/lactation and had a lactation duration of 282.3 days, batch 3 obtained 543.6 kg/lactation and a lactation duration of 289.2 days and batch 2 had the highest total milk production 1132. 41 kg/lactation and the longest duration of lactation 417.6 days highlighting that mounting them in the breeding off-season and prolonging lactation are effective strategies to optimize milk production in Anglo-Nubian goats.
