Statement of the problem. The article considers the problem of engineering and technical survey of the central obelisk «The Memorial Ensemble to 1200 Guardsmen of the 11th Guards Army Who Died during the Storming of the City and Fortress of Königsberg in April 1945» in order to clarify the design solution of the obelisk rod and the material from which it is made, as well as to determine the actual technical condition of the obelisk structural elements. Results. As a result of the study, the design solution of the obelisk rod was clarified and the material from which it is made was determined, and the actual technical condition of the obelisk structural elements was established. The obtained results refute the data of the unfair survey conducted in 2023. Conclusions. The results of the study allow us to conclude that the obelisk is made in the form of a column, the load-bearing elements of which are the foundation and the rod, to which the facing slabs of gray granite are fixed. The supporting rod is made of ceramic brickwork reinforced with flat horizontal meshes, and not of reinforced concrete, as was assumed based on the results of the previous inspection. The technical condition of the obelisk rod is recognized as operational, and that of the facing layer is unsatisfactory.
