Key Points

  • The aim is to design and synthesize new organometallic N-acylhydrazones that exhibit potent activity against parasitic infections.
  • Synthesis of eight new ferrocenyl/cyrhetrenyl N-acylhydrazones featuring a 4- or 5-nitrothienyl group.
  • Comparative analysis with previously reported analogs.
  • New N-acylhydrazones show potent antiparasitic activity against Trypanosoma cruzi and brucei.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness compared to existing compounds.

Abstract

Eight new ferrocenyl/cyrhetrenyl N -acylhydrazones featuring a 4- or 5-nitrothienyl group were synthesized as potent antiparasitic agents. This work provides a comparative study of these complexes alongside their previously reported analogs.
