This study focuses on the health awareness and health issues of women in Visakhapatnam District. Women’s health is a vital component of societal well-being and economic development, as it directly influences family health, workforce participation, and future generations. Despite its importance, disparities in access to healthcare, especially in developing regions, continue to affect women’s health outcomes. The study aims to examine the level of healthcare awareness among women and their preferences for healthcare facilities. A comparative analysis was conducted by selecting one urban mandal and one rural mandal in the district. A total of 450 women aged between 19 and 45 years were randomly selected, and primary data were collected through structured questionnaires. The findings highlight significant differences in health awareness and access to healthcare services between urban and rural women. Factors such as economic constraints, limited healthcare infrastructure, and lack of awareness contribute to poor health outcomes, particularly in rural areas. The study also emphasizes the importance of improving maternal healthcare services, promoting health education, and ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare facilities. The research concludes that investing in women’s health not only improves individual well-being but also contributes to broader social and economic development. It suggests that targeted policy interventions and efficient allocation of healthcare resources are essential to address existing gaps and enhance the overall health status of women in the district.
