The Universe, Life on Earth, and I is an exploratory experiment grounded in posthumanist and new materialist ontologies, where I contemplate how all living and non-living matter in the Universe is intertwined in constantly ongoing processes of creation and dissolution, and how the boundaries of my perceived self as a human being dissolve and merge with everything around me. The images I present are created in a flow where I, to some extent, am at the helm. All the more-than-human elements around me also actively participate in the processes with their colors, shapes, life processes, and light phenomena. In addition, I have the assistance of acting technology, software, and AI-driven assistants. I strive to follow and depict with my camera what unfolds in the life spirals and entanglements that surround me and to go with the flow generated by the technology I use, both in terms of what I instruct hardware, software, and AI to create, and in the often surprising results they produce. The images and texts are intertwined in tangles and tufts that cannot be unraveled into straight, linear narratives. Everything is interconnected. There is no beginning, and no end, only an amidst where I can make an incision and freeze a thought in an image. Karen Barad might have called it agential cuts.
