Abstract Health and wellness psychology focus on understanding how biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors influence health, illness, and well-being. Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), a vast body of indigenous knowledge developed over millennia, offer holistic perspectives on health through traditions such as Ayurveda, Yoga, meditation, and philosophical schools like Sankhya and Vedanta. This paper explores the intersection of health and wellness psychology with IKS, highlighting how traditional Indian frameworks complement contemporary psychological models. By integrating mind–body practices, ethical living, and community-oriented values, IKS provides culturally grounded approaches to promoting mental health, resilience, and overall well-being.
