This study examines the effect of digital transformation on the performance of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church (EOTC). While previous research has explored digital transformation in business sectors, limited work examines it in the church context, and no one in EOTC. This study addresses that gap by focusing on EOTC. Guided by the resource-based view and dynamic capability theory and through a comprehensive literature review and empirical analysis, this study intends to investigate the extent to which digital transformation initiatives have influenced the performance of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church. A quantitative approach was employed, and survey data were collected from 276 respondents selected using stratified random sampling and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings provide valuable insights into digital transformation within the EOTC. The research findings provide insight into add to the current body of knowledge on digital transformation and its implications for church performance, offering recommendations for the church and other religious institutions seeking to embark on similar digital transformation journeys.
