ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming more visible in all aspects of our lives. This Viewpoint discusses the impact AI will have on statisticians working within the pharmaceutical industry. While aspects of the statistician's role will change, I propose that AI will make the core components of a statistician's skillset even more critical in the future.
