Positional Detachment Theory (PDT) investigates whether positional localization is a primitive or derived property of physical systems, and whether any extension of known physics permits re-localization of a system at an arbitrary distinct location without continuous causal propagation. This paper develops PDT from motivating premises through a formal toy model to a theorem-level result about the physical constraints on re-localization.
