Abstract

The development and deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in smart city infrastructure have increased efficiency and connectivity. Nevertheless, a new level of sophisticated cyber threats and vulnerabilities has been introduced in smart city infrastructure as a result of the development and deployment of IoT technologies. There is a need to address the issue from a cybersecurity perspective. The conventional security technologies and approaches may not be adequate to cope with the dynamic and heterogeneous nature of IoT technologies, which may lead to vulnerabilities in terms of data integrity, privacy, and reliability. This survey aims to present recent advancements in machine learning-based cybersecurity solutions for IoT-based smart city infrastructure.
