This paper introduces the concept of the Economics of Governability and explores why future autonomous ecosystems may increasingly require persistent governance infrastructures capable of sustaining runtime legitimacy, operational boundedness, certification continuity, distributed accountability, and scalable societal trust. The paper argues that governability may evolve from a primarily regulatory concern toward a foundational operational infrastructure layer necessary for the scalable deployment of adaptive autonomous systems across robotics, industrial automation, transportation, logistics, healthcare, and public infrastructure.
