This article examines the relationship between process automation, human factors, and operational reliability in military air traffic control environments. Drawing from practical experience within a Brazilian Air Force operational unit, the study analyzes how structured automation systems can reduce cognitive overload, improve consistency, strengthen traceability, and support decision-making in high-responsibility operational contexts. The article discusses the transformation of a fully manual workflow into an integrated automated process, reducing execution time from approximately fifteen days to three hours while maintaining procedural integrity and institutional compliance. Beyond efficiency gains, the study explores how automation may function as a structural mechanism for operational stability, reducing variability and supporting safer, more reliable operational environments. The discussion also addresses broader themes involving systems engineering, human performance, accountability, auditability, and institutional reliability within complex aviation systems. Rather than replacing human expertise, automation is presented as a support mechanism capable of strengthening analytical capacity and improving operational resilience. By integrating operational practice with established literature on aviation safety and human factors, this article contributes to ongoing discussions regarding modernization, reliability, and technological integration within contemporary air traffic control systems.
