Though more common in childhood, the prevalence of adult-onset food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) in the US is approximately 0.22%. While the mechanism of FPIES is unclear, it is a non-IgE mediated food allergy that may be associated with cytokine release, leukocyte activation, and increased gastrointestinal permeability1. This case illustrates adult-onset atypical FPIES following chemotherapy, which has not been previously reported.
