This review offers a narrative synthesis of evidence on the prevention and management of pulmonary complications after cesarean delivery in high-altitude areas. It integrates high-altitude physiology with perioperative practice to outline pathophysiology, risk factors, and practical management strategies across anesthesia, respiratory protection, fluid management, and postoperative analgesia, with an emphasis on the core role of the nursing team throughout. As the obstetric and high-altitude evidence base is heterogeneous and often extrapolated from non-obstetric settings, applicability boundaries and uncertainty are explicitly discussed and nursing and multidisciplinary collaboration are highlighted as essential components of risk-stratified pathways. The goal is to offer clinically actionable recommendations and a framework for individualized care to reduce pulmonary complications after cesarean delivery and improve maternal–neonatal outcomes in high-altitude settings.
