Abstract

The John Innes Centre is a UKRI-BBSRC supported research institute specialising in plant and microbial science. As a long-standing pioneer in research assessment reform and a foundational signatory of DORA, JIC signed the CoARA agreement and joined the UK National Chapter in 2025. This document establishes our strategic institutional action plan to further refine how we evaluate research, recognise diverse outputs, and build an inclusive, supportive, and fair research culture.
