Abstract This article constitutes the in-depth monograph of the Integrated Theory of Mind (TIM) dedicated to Node 2 of the Prognostica Mens, explored through the lens of the Biophysical Domain. While the cognitive domain revealed the cybernetic "software" (the Decision Tree), this essay decodes its formidable material and thermodynamic "hardware." It biophysically maps the primary inhibition between perception and action, governed by Corollary Discharge and the Basal Ganglia to prevent the entropic collapse of the system. Subsequently, the theory overcomes classical synaptic exclusivism by entering the heart of the computational dichotomy: the material clash between the Discrete Self (the chemical-synaptic hardware for metric isolation) and the Holistic Self (the analog infrastructure for semantic extraction via Ephaptic Coupling and microtubular superradiance). The arena for this friction is the thalamocortical system, where conscious Binding is not a mirage, but the result of the ruthless filtering operated by the Thalamic Reticular Nucleus (TRN).
