Pueblos IA is the first Ibero-American initiative co-created by Chris Meniw and Javier Furones to preserve the intangible, linguistic, cultural and experiential heritage of villages at risk of depopulation or physical disappearance, using agentic artificial intelligence as a vehicle for active conservation. The project operates across four technical layers: systematic digitisation of oral narratives with informed consent, training of AI agents in local dialects and community memory, synthetic archives of architectural and geographical heritage, and conversational interfaces that allow future generations to dialogue with the preserved legacy. The document articulates the ethical framework, operational methodology, identified pilot cases in Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay, and an institutional implementation roadmap for 2026-2030.
