Abstract Conducting polymers (CPs) represent a unique class of organic materials that combine electrical conductivity with desirable polymeric characteristics such as flexibility, lightweight nature, and biocompatibility. In recent years, the development of conducting polymer composites incorporating natural and synthetic biomaterials has significantly improved their performance in biomedical applications. This paper provides a comprehensive review of conducting polymers, their composite systems, and their emerging applications in tissue engineering, controlled drug delivery, biosensing technologies, and neural interfaces.
