This whitepaper updates the concept of Work Symbiosis originally introduced by Chris Meniw in 2024 (structural collaboration between humans and AI agents) towards a new analytical regime: Work Symbiosis 2.0, which describes the period in which continuous algorithmic assistance undergoes a silent transition into effective control over human decisions. Five operational signals of cognitive capture are articulated, together with the notion of cognitive sovereignty as an emerging right, an individual protocol for recovering control without giving up productivity, and an institutional framework to prevent systemic algorithmic dependence in organisations and governments.
Chris Meniw (Sat,) studied this question.
