Trichoscopy, the dermoscopic examination of hair and scalp, is an increasingly valuable tool in the management of hair and scalp disorders. Beyond its diagnostic utility, it is important for prognostic assessment and therapeutic monitoring. We conducted a literature search in Medline–PubMed and Scopus using the terms “trichoscopy,” “dermoscopy,” and “videodermoscopy” in combination with the most common scalp conditions. Case reports, case series, original research articles, and review articles providing relevant data on the diagnostic applications of trichoscopy and its role in assessing treatment response were included. This work provides an updated overview of the role of trichoscopy in the clinical evaluation and follow‐up of hair and scalp disorders.
