The aim is to determine whether coronary CT angiography or coronary artery calcium testing is more effective for guiding primary prevention strategies.
Randomized trial design
Participants underwent either coronary CT angiography or coronary artery calcium testing
Follow-up measures included cardiovascular risk assessment
Participants receiving coronary CT angiography showed a significant reduction in cardiovascular events with HR 0.65, 95% CI 0.45-0.92, p=0.02.
Coronary artery calcium testing alone led to a moderate reduction in risk but was less effective compared to CT angiography.
