A Case of Lingual Nerve Schwannoma That Was Treated by the Continuous Aspiration Syringe Method with Submandibular Gland Preservation

Schwannomas are benign tumors originating from the Schwann cells of the cranial nerves (excluding the optic and olfactory nerves), autonomic nerves, and peripheral nerves. Schwannomas arising from the lingual nerve in the submandibular region are rare and it is crucial to differentiate them from submandibular gland tumors. Furthermore, it is essential to minimize postoperative neurological deficits during tumor excision. We report a case in which inter-capsular resection was successfully performed for a schwannoma originating from the lingual nerve in the submandibular region using the continuous aspiration syringe method.
