ABSTRACT This study presents a paleoradiological analysis of two mummified children from Qubbet el‐Hawa (Aswan, Egypt), dated to the Middle Kingdom and the Late Period. High‐resolution computed tomography (CT) was used to assess embalming methods, skeletal development, and internal preservation. The Middle Kingdom mummy exhibited minimal soft tissue retention, no transnasal excerebration, and no evidence of resin or packing—features consistent with early, minimalist embalming. In contrast, the Late Period mummy displayed transnasal excerebration, cranial resin, and extensive preservation typical of advanced techniques. Each individual is interpreted within its historical and cultural context, emphasizing temporal rather than age‐related variation in funerary treatment. These results provide contextualized radiological evidence that nonadult embalming practices reflected prevailing period‐specific traditions, demonstrating the utility of CT imaging for integrating nonadult mummies into broader comparative studies of ancient Egyptian mortuary practice.
