Scortum barcoo is a freshwater fish native to Australia, which is introduced to Taiwan two decades ago to diversify aquaculture species. Initially, it faced challenges such as muddy off-flavors due to immature farming practices. After nearly a decade of refinement in Taiwan, improved farming techniques produced high-quality Scortum barcoo competitive for customers, gaining recognition from five-star hotels. To support large-scale Scortum barcoo farming in Pingtung, we developed a smart aquaculture management platform. The system integrates three core functions: (1) real-time paddlewheel anomaly alerts, (2) feeding cost analysis, and (3) trial-based farming tracking. Early deployment shows that our system can improve management efficiency, enhance risk control, and support digital transformation, demonstrating its potential to enable sustainable and intelligent Scortum barcoo aquaculture in Taiwan.
