This study examines the impact of Scholarship Programs on Educational Development in Ido Local Government, Ibadan. Education remains a critical driver of socio-economic development, but financial barriers often hinder students, especially in rural and semi-urban areas, from accessing quality education. The study investigates the effects of scholarship initiatives on student enrolment, participation, academic performance, and socio-economic development within the local government. A descriptive survey design was employed, using structured questionnaires and interviews to collect primary data from students, parents, teachers, and government officials. Secondary data were obtained from journals, textbooks, and government records. From the study, it was revealed that scholarship programs significantly reduce dropout rates, improve school attendance, and enhance students’ academic performance. However, challenges such as inadequate funding, bureaucratic bottlenecks, favouritism, and poor awareness hinder the effective implementation of these programs. The study concludes that scholarship programs are vital to educational development and recommends improved funding, transparency, community involvement, and strong monitoring mechanisms to maximize their effectiveness in Ido Local Government.
