This study examined the impact of an educational technology tool, Microsoft Forms, on university students’ understanding of journal entry transactions and their motivation to learn. This study was used for both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were collected through a pre-test and a post-test while qualitative data were collected through a post-intervention survey. The results showed a small increase in the test scores although this change was not statistically significant. However, students stated that their basic understanding seemed clearer, they felt more engaged, and they studied more outside of class. Repetitive practice and immediate feedback in Microsoft Forms helped them enhance bookkeeping journal entry transactions. Conversely, the intervention did not lead to statistically significant improvement on higher difficulty items. This shows that students need clearer materials and more additional support. They also need clearer explanations, diagrams, and more different question types. The quality of learning materials played a significant role in learning outcomes. Microsoft Forms appeared to be useful as a supportive tool for enhancing motivation and acquiring basic bookkeeping concepts. Larger samples and longer-term interventions are necessary to evaluate the educational potential of Microsoft Forms on bookkeeping education.
