AbstractThe rapid growth of modern social media platforms has significantly influenced thelifestyle and academic behaviour of college students. This study examines the role of socialmedia in shaping academic performance, highlighting both its positive and negative impacts.Using a descriptive research design with a sample size of 100 students selected throughrandom sampling, the study analyses patterns of usage and their academic implications.Statistical tools such as percentage analysis, mean, and correlation were employed. Thefindings reveal that while social media enhances access to educational resources andcollaborative learning, excessive usage adversely affects academic performance.
