ABSTRACT Methylene blue (MB), a widely used toxic dye in the textile industry, possesses significant environmental and health hazards when discharged untreated into the aqueous system. To address this issue, efficient detection and degradation methods are crucial for safeguarding the ecosystem. In this study, SrTiO 3 /GO nanocomposite was synthesized and employed for the sensitive electrochemical detection and photocatalytic degradation of MB. The electrochemical behavior of the SrTiO 3 /GO modified glassy carbon electrode (SrTiO 3 /GO/GCE) was evaluated using various analytical techniques. The as‐proposed sensor exhibited excellent sensitivity (2.89 µA µM cm −2 ), stability, and rapid response, achieving a linear response (1–1400 µM) with a detection limit of (1.02 µM) under optimized conditions. Moreover, the SrTiO 3 /GO nanocomposite demonstrated enhanced photocatalytic performance, attaining 90.47% degradation of MB under visible light irradiation. The improved performance is ascribed to the formation of a Z‐scheme heterojunction between SrTiO 3 and GO, which promotes efficient charge separation. Notably, the photocatalyst retained greater stability and reusability over five cycles. Overall, the synthesized SrTiO 3 /GO nanocomposite presents a promising multifunctional platform for both photocatalytic and electrochemical applications in environmental remediation.
