ABSTRACTThe hospitality industry is undergoing a significant digital transformation driven by increasing guestexpectations, sustainability objectives, and operational efficiency requirements. Modern hoteldevelopments are increasingly adopting Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS) to create intelligentguest environments capable of automatically managing room comfort, energy consumption, security, andservice requests.This paper presents a practical implementation study involving Schneider Electric Guest RoomManagement Systems integrated with VingCard electronic access control systems, Daikin Fan Coil Unit(FCU) air-conditioning systems, and Opera Property Management System (PMS) platforms within alarge-scale hospitality development consisting of approximately 400 guest rooms. The implementedsolution utilized KNX-based room automation technologies to establish a fully integrated guest roomenvironment supporting lighting control, HVAC management, curtain automation, occupancy-basedenergy management, guest service functions, and hotel operational workflows.The integration architecture enabled seamless interaction between hotel operational systems and roomautomation infrastructure. Guest check-in and check-out activities performed through the Opera PMSplatform automatically triggered room status changes, access control authorization updates, energymanagement functions, and guest comfort settings. Additional integrations with VingCard electronic locksand Schneider room controllers enabled automated occupancy detection and intelligent room operation.The results demonstrate significant improvements in guest experience, energy efficiency, operationalvisibility, maintenance performance, and hotel management effectiveness. The study further examinesimplementation challenges, commissioning methodologies, and future opportunities associated with smarthospitality technologies.
