Abstract

This work presents a measurement-centric formulation for the analysis of phase-controlled multi-mass systems. The approach explicitly separates the system dynamics from the measurement equation and defines the observable normal force as the primary object of analysis. The measured signal is decomposed into a static contribution, modeled dynamic components, and a residual term capturing unmodeled effects and potential artifacts. A central focus is the distinction between drift and mean shift behavior in the measurement signal. This enables a structured evaluation of whether observed deviations are state-dependent and reproducible, or attributable to measurement artifacts and system imperfections. The framework is intended as a pre-experimental methodological basis. It does not assume or claim the existence of novel physical effects. Any observed deviations must be critically assessed with respect to model assumptions, measurement limitations, and numerical effects. The formulation is designed to support controlled hypothesis testing and falsification in future experimental investigations.
