Ensuring the security of the rights of persons under criminal prosecution is one of the most pressing issues in modern criminal proceedings. This article presents a legal scientific analysis of the fact that an effective system of protection of all participants in the criminal process should realize human rights and legitimate interests as the highest value. Also, the article provides a comparative legal analysis of foreign practices on ensuring the safety of participants in criminal proceedings.
