Key Points

  • The study aims to explore the characteristics and treatment outcomes of paediatric neuro-Behçet’s disease.
  • Conducted a multi-centre observational study.
  • Utilized MRI for confirmation and classification of neuro-Behçet’s disease.
  • Implemented early aggressive immunosuppressive therapy.
  • Identified non-parenchymal neuro-Behçet’s disease as the dominant form in children.
  • Noted clinical improvement with early aggression in treatment.
  • Found that activity and disability indexes are useful for monitoring treatment progress.

Abstract

Paediatric NBD remains a significant issue in paediatric rheumatology. The non-parenchymal subgroup is the predominant form in children. Paediatric NBD should be confirmed and classified by MRI. The early aggressive immunosuppressive therapy provides clinical improvement. Activity and disability indexes are valuable for treatment and follow-up.
