Purpose This study aims to visualize the knowledge structure and research trends of library and information science (LIS) in the Philippines from 1995 to 2025. It analyzes productivity, impact, collaboration and thematic evolution. Design/methodology/approach A bibliometric mapping analysis was conducted using data retrieved from Scopus. The study applied performance analysis, co-citation, co-authorship and keyword co-occurrence analysis. VOSviewer was used to generate visual network maps. Findings Results show a steady rise in LIS research since 2018, though output remains modest. Collaboration remains limited and fragmented. Seven major themes reveal a shift toward digital, inclusive and community-oriented scholarship. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to offer a purely longitudinal bibliometric mapping of Philippine LIS research. By contextualizing national trends with regional and global development, the study reveals gaps and growth opportunities. It provides valuable insights for researchers, educators and policymakers aiming to enhance scholarly engagement, research collaboration and visibility of LIS in the Philippines.
